Paint with Pastel, Pure Color, Pure Beauty

Explore the beauty and richness of pure pigment as you enjoy the tactile painting
media of soft pastel. Start at the beginning with basic instructions and methods and
create a finished painting in each class. Gain basic knowledge of primary colors and
their complementaries. You will also be given an understanding of the importance of value and composition in creating paintings and developing your own unique style.
(Bring Nupastel set of 18 or 24.) A $6 materials fee is payable to instructor. (6 classes).

Crochet Instruction
Instructor: Sharon Hurst
Learn or relearn the popular art of crochet or become further skilled if you are already
crocheting. This class will teach you to read patterns and make whatever
project you desire: a scarf, a hat, a sweater, a baby blanket, an afghan,
or even a filet crochet. Please bring size “G” or “H” crochet hooks (aluminum “BOYE” brand preferred) and two light-colored worsted weight yarns. Intermediates welcome - bring your project or questions. (6 classes)

Intro to Porcelain Painting

Have you ever been intrigued about how china painting is done? If you answered yes,
this is the class for you! You will get an overview of porcelain painting, the techniques, and
the tools that are used in this art. You will also work on your own project which you will take

Water Colors Made Fun

Learn the various techniques used to create the water color painting you’ve always admired
and wished you could do in a fun and relaxed way! These classes are an introduction to
the intriguing medium of watercolor. With demonstrations and plenty of one-on-one guidance, experience the joy of watching color come to life and overcome your misconceptions

Beginning Metalworking

Metalwork for beginners will train students in lightweight wrought ironwork and gas and arc welding, basic sheet metal fabrication and aluminum casting. MUST ATTEND FIRST

Beginning Woodworking

This class will focus on the manufacture of useful and decorative wood items and small
furniture, using a variety of machines and hand tools. Basic joinery, assembly and

Petaluma Community Band
Instructor: Arlene Burney
The Petaluma Community Band is an adult-oriented wind and percussion ensemble.
Participants should have played with a high school and/or college band and
want to improve their musical abilities. Participants should have their own
instrument. Percussion equipment is provided. The music rehearsed and performed will include marches, classical band music, show tunes, jazz selections, and other typical traditional band music. A yearly schedule will
