Entry Level Quickbooks

Students will be trained on entry-level bookkeeping skills (the most technical among all secretarial skills in small business office environments) that will prepare them for their first entry level bookkeeping position. These skills include software, filing, and commonly used accounting terms. Students will use Quickbooks ~ the widely acclaimed bookkeeping program to do Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. Prerequisites: Basic computer and Windows XP familiarity

Each student will receive hundreds of dollars of FREE software along with basic instruction in installing and using OpenOffice.org. You can have a full-featured office productivity suite that’s compatible with Microsoft Office and not have to pay a penny. Powerful word processing, dynamic and impressive slide presentations, full function spreadsheets and much more, all packed with more powerful features than you will ever use. And It’s Legal!

The OpenOffice.org project is primarily sponsored by Sun Microsystems, which is the primary contributor of code to the Project. Other major corporate contributors include Novell, RedHat, RedFlag CH2000, IBM, and Google. Additionally over 450,000 people from nearly every curve of the globe contribute to this Project with the idea of creating the best possible office suite that all can use. This is the essence of “open source.”

Each student will receive a CD with the latest version of Open Office and will be instructed in how to install it and use all three of the basic applications at the beginner level. (3 classes)
