You can have a full-featured office productivity suite that’s compatible with Microsoft Office and not have to pay a penny. Powerful word processing, dynamic and impressive slide presentations, full function spreadsheets and much more, all packed with more powerful features than you will ever use. And It’s Legal!

The OpenOffice.org project is primarily sponsored by Sun Microsystems, which is the primary contributor of code to the Project. Other major corporate contributors include Novell, RedHat, RedFlag CH2000, IBM, and Google. Additionally over 450,000 people from nearly every curve of the globe contribute to this Project with the idea of creating the best possible office suite that all can use. This is the essence of “open source.”
