Beginning Woodworking
Instructor: Rollin Gehring
This class will focus on the manufacture of useful and decorative wood items and small furniture, using a variety of machines and hand tools. Safety instruction required for machine use; therefore, all students MUST ATTEND FIRST CLASS. Please no advanced woodworkers in this class. NOTE: A $15 lab fee is included at time of registration to cover machinery maintenance (additional materials fees may be charged). Please bring pencil, paper, goggles, ear protection and closed shoes. (9 classes)

Experienced Woodworking

Students who enroll in this class need to have some experience with woodworking tools and equipment. It is important to be aware of the proper safety procedures and safe operation of power equipment; therefore, all students MUST ATTEND FIRST CLASS. Machines available: table saw, radial arm saw, band saw, jointer, planer, lathe, and more. Bring good plans, pencil, paper, goggles, ear protection and closed shoes. NOTE: A $15 lab fee is included at the time of registration to cover machinery maintenance. (12 classes)

Quick Draw
Instructor: Ginny Wilson
Drawing is a learnable skill. With the “keys to drawing” given, you will learn to sharpen your own observation skills and develop and improve your drawing ability. You’ll learn such useful tools as to how to convey the illusion of light, depth, and texture. Put all your previous drawing doubts behind you and start fresh with this logical and inviting approach. By following these basic instructions, you will be able to draw with skill and confidence. Bring 3 Ebony pencils and 9” x 12” sketch pad. (10 classes)

Metalworking for Beginners

Metalworking for beginners will train students in lightweight wrought iron and gas welding, basic sheet metal fabrication and aluminum casting. Safety instruction required for machine use; therefore, all students MUST ATTEND FIRST CLASS. NOTE: A $15 lab fee is included at the time of registration to cover metalshop consumables such as welding rods and gases. Please bring pencil, paper, goggles, ear protection and closed shoes. The Way with Watercolor

Learn the various techniques used to create the watercolor painting you’ve always admired and wished you could do in a fun and relaxed way! These classes are an introduction to the intriguing medium of watercolor. With demonstrations and plenty of one-on-one guidance, you will experience the joy of watching color come to life while overcoming your misconceptions that watercolor has to be difficult. Pastel, Pure and Simple
Instructor: Ginny Wilson
Explore the beauty and richness of pure pigment as you enjoy the tactile painting media of soft pastel. Start at the beginning with basic instructions and gain a basic knowledge of primary colors and their complementaries. You will also be given an understanding of the importance of composition and value while developing your own unique style. Bring Nupastel set of (at least) 24 colors. (10 classes)
