High School Diploma/GED Options
Do you want a better paying job or a new career?
It all starts with completing your high school diploma or getting a GED!

The Adult School semester dates are 1/10/12 - 6/27/12. No classes will be held on 1/16, 2/20 or 3/19 - 3/23. A $25 registration fee applies to all HSD/Ged options. Classes are open entry. If classes are full, students will be placed on a wait list and called when space is available.


High School Subjects Evening Learning Center
This class offers individualized self-paced instruction in courses needed to meet graduation requirements.

English 30 credits
Algebra 10 credits
Mathematics 10 credits
Life Science 10 credits
Physical Science 10 credits

Visual Performing Arts/Foreign Language 10 credits
CAHSEE California High School Exit Exam Pass
Electives 90 credits
TOTAL 200 credits

Adult Independent Study
This fast-paced program is for highly motivated students who have the determination and time to study on their own to complete coursework for a high school diploma. Requirements are:

  • complete a minimum of 5 credits per month
  • study a minimum of 15 hours per week
  • need 50 or fewer credits
  • meet teacher once a week
  • pay $75 refundable textbook deposit (and $25 reg fee)

CAHSEE Test Preparation
The state of California requires that all students pass the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) in order to receive a diploma. Exam dates are in March and July. If all you need to graduate is the CAHSEE exam, enroll in our individualized, teacher-directed prep class. Students must be enrolled in a prep class in order to take the exam through Petaluma Adult
School.
