Advanced Beginning French: Ooh La La

Students with a basic knowledge of travel French are encouraged to practice situational French speaking contexts, such as making reservations, ordering food, and engaging in lively banter. Come prepared to sound exotic and knowledgeable. Students will be able to negotiate French road maps, menus, tourist brochures, and the cultural idiosyncracies of U.S. - French relations. Also explore characteristics of more than 50 countries and regions that use French as a primary or secondary language. No verb conjugation charts required. (5 classes)

Want to brush up your German? Whatever level you are, you are welcome! Each class will be based on some aspect of the culture, and we’ll brush up vocabulary and grammar while talking about it. Students are encouraged to bring photos, family lore or news items related to a German-speaking country to the class to talk about as well. The goal is to have fun while practicing German. Students must have learned basic beginning German at some point. Maximum = 10 students. (6 classes)
