School Policies
ACADEMIC COUNSELING: Counseling services are available for students in the Adult School
Diploma classes and for any other student needing assistance with scheduling.
ADMISSION: Adult School classes are open to any person 18 years of age or over who can
profit from instruction. Most classes have open enrollment. Adult education classes are provided in
handicapped accessible settings. Ed Code #52610
BOOKS: Textbooks are available for purchase. Ed. Code #52612, 60410
COMPLAINT PROCEDURE: The Petaluma City School’s Board of Education has established policy
that addresses complaints concerning school programs/personnel. For more information call
778-4633.

FEES: Community Education classes are supported solely by student fees. Some classes have
additional lab/materials fees.
REFUNDS: Full refunds are given to students canceling a class prior to its beginning date. Once
class begins, students will be issued a credit coupon (applicable to any adult school class) for the
prorated amount of the remaining classes. Fees are not transferrable to other classes.
TOBACCO POLICY: All locations are non-smoking facilities. Board policy 4172/4272 and 5131.62.
