McKinley offers music instruction at all grade levels.

Students in grades TK through 1st receive weekly music instruction from local musician James K as well as weekly lessons from a credentialed music teacher.

Students in the upper grades also receive weekly music instruction including the introduction of different instruments at each grade level:

Fourth Grade: Recorders

Fifth and Sixth Grade: Chorus and Band

Sixth Grade: Band

Seventh and Eighth Grade: Band

Student in 5th through 8th grades present a special Winter Music Share performance each December and a special performance in the Spring. They also participate in the Westside Band Festival in April.
