Principal Ani Larson

  • Ms. Larson has been a passionate educator for the past 21 years, with experience teaching TK, Kindergarten, 5th grade, and 6th grade in both Oakland Unified and Waugh school districts. In her role as a teacher, she has sought to ensure the success of each student and her schools by providing the best instructional and extracurricular opportunities and supports possible. Above and beyond teaching children, Ms. Larson worked for Thinking Maps as a trainer of teachers, professionally developing the majority of our elementary teachers in Petaluma City Schools in organizational thinking and writing.

Ms. Larson was a collegiate athlete at Humboldt State and has served as the volleyball coach at both Kenilworth Junior High School and Casa Grande. Ms. Larson recently completed her administrative credential and as part of her work, she led the faculty at Kenilworth Junior High School through a visioning process to create a new mission statement and core values for their school, something Kenilworth will be launching in the Fall. Ms. Larson has lived in Petaluma for the last 18 years and loves being part of a diverse community that values our public schools.

Ms. Larson describes herself as a huge proponent of parent involvement, honesty, equity, doing what is best for students, and having fun.
