• Enrollment Process

We are excited to announce that we will be using a new user-friendly registration platform this year for our elementary (TK/K-6 and TK/K-8) schools! We know that registration has been confusing and time-consuming in the past and our goals are to fix that as well as to improve communication with families throughout the process. Check back here for updates at the end of November. If you have any questions or concerns about the new system, please reach out to our Communications Coordinator, Ashley Collingwood, at acollingwood@petk12.org or 707-778-4890.

For K-6 and K-8 families, the information below was for our previous registration process, but you may use it for reference to get an idea of what you will need for the coming year while we continue to develop the new system. For 7-8 and 9-12 schools or for alternative high schools, you will still be using the system outlined below while we pilot the new system. If you have any questions or concerns about the new system, please reach out to our Communications Coordinator, Ashley Collingwood, at acollingwood@petk12.org or 707-778-4890.

    Step 1

Complete the Petaluma City Schools Registration Form.  Please submit only one district registration form per student, indicating schools requested in choice order.

PCS Registration Form (English)  --  Form explanation page, English
PCS Registration Form (Spanish)  --  Form explanation page, Spanish

In addition to the PCS Registration Form, you must return the following documents to the office in order to be considered enrolled:

    Step 2

Identify your school of residence using the School Finder. If you are registering for a school outside of your school of residency, you must complete and return one of the following:

    1. If you are submitting a registration form to a school that is not the student's school of residency, and the student lives within the Petaluma City Schools district boundaries, complete an intra district transfer* form and include it with the registration packet.

    2. If you are submitting a registration form to a school that is not your student's school of residency, and the student does not live within the Petaluma City Schools district boundaries, complete an inter district transfer* form and include it with the registration packet.

    3. If you are submitting a registration form to a school that is not the student's school of residency, and you (parent/guardian) work within the Petaluma City Schools district boundaries, complete an employment related transfer* form and include it with the registration packet.

     * Transfer forms are not required for our charter schools: Mary Collins at Cherry Valley, Penngrove Elementary, PACS at McKinley, and Sixth Grade Academy

    Step 3

You will need to return the following information before the first day of school to complete your child’s registration so that they may attend school. Please return as soon as possible to allow time to process.

    1. Immunization Records (Guide to Immunizations) **
    2. Report of Health Examination – after March 1st for Kindergarten  †
    3. Oral Health Assessment - English and Spanish  †
    4. Student Emergency/Treatment Form (Guidelines available for assistance.)
    5. Student Emergency Treatment Authorization
    6. Student Residency Questionnaire

** If you have ever attended a school in the Petaluma City Schools District, we may already have your Immunization Records.
