Giant Steps Therapeutic Equestrian Center in Petaluma is looking for volunteers!
At Giant Steps we are dedicated to enriching lives through the power of horses, team, and community. Through the excellence of our equine assisted programs, people of all ages, mean, and challenges experience the extraordinary benefits of therapeutic riding and activities.
Volunteers have the opportunity to work with horses as a groom and horse handler, as well as work with clients as a sidewalker in which volunteers help riders navigate the lesson and provide emotional and physical support. No horse experience is required. We have classes Tuesdays-Sundays throughout the day. Our class schedule is as follows:
Tuesdays: 10am, 11am, 12pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm
Wednesdays: 10:30am, 11:30am, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm
Thursdays: 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm
Fridays: 1pm, 2pm, 4pm
Saturdays: 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm
Sundays: 10am, 11am
To get started, we ask potential volunteers to fill out our Volunteer Application here, and then attend our Volunteer Orientation. Our next orientation is this Sunday, 9/19 from 12-2pm.
