This past Tuesday, the School Board voted unanimously to ratify the Tentative Agreement reached between Petaluma City Schools and the Petaluma Federation of Teachers (PFT). I want to thank both negotiations teams for their hard work and professionalism throughout the process. I am optimistic that this agreement helps set the tone for a trusting and respectful future relationship.
As part of the agreement, certificated employees will receive a 2.75% on-schedule salary increase, retroactive to July 1, 2018 and a 0.75% off-the-schedule, lump-sum bonus for employees active as of December 14, 2018 (prorated per FTE).
Your new, monthly salary amount that has been increased by the 2.75% will be reflected in your February end-of-month pay, and the retroactive portion of the 2.75% increase along with the 0.75% off-the-schedule, lump-sum bonus will be paid on the March 8th supplemental payroll, on one check.
With each site visit, I continue to be more and more impressed with the level of teaching and learning throughout the District and I am thankful to work with such a dedicated group of professional educators. Thank you, thank you for all that you do for students.
