Students in Petaluma City Schools have opportunities to develop skills in media production and broadcast journalism through creating school-based news shows. See below for examples of our student's work.
Gaucho Weekly Roundup
Casa Grande High School journalism students began producing the Gaucho Weekly Roundup in the Fall of 2016, to provide an insight into campus happenings in a video-magazine format.
Kenilworth Junior High students produce a news show to broadcast the daily announcements. This program has evolved from a small studio in the library to a full digital media classroom that includes two full sections of students. Check out a sample episode below.
Petaluma High School students produce a daily news show to report on what's happening on campus and in their community. Check out their live broadcast from the "Elective Expo" when 8th graders visited the PHS campus.
Penngrove Elementary students produce a news show periodically, showing that students across all grade levels in Petaluma City Schools are learning to be effective communicators and critical thinkers. Check out one of their sample episodes below.
