SONOMA MTN HIGH SCHOOL ONLY - POWER OUTAGE MAKE-UP DAYS
The State of California requires all public high schools to have 180 days of instruction and a minimum of 64,800 instructional minutes (32,400 instructional minutes for continuation high schools). As you are all aware, due to an emergency power outage, Sonoma Mountain and Casa Grande High Schools were closed on December 1st and 2nd which dropped our instructional days below the state’s minimum. We requested that the State of California grant us an emergency waiver due to the nature of the outage, however that request was denied.
Therefore, in order to meet the State requirements for instructional days, Sonoma Mountain and Casa Grande High Schools will be making up these 2 days during the emergency school closure week, specifically on Thursday, April 6 and Friday, April 7. Please plan ahead as Sonoma Mountain High School will be in session. For Sonoma Mountain, the school will follow a Final’s Day Schedule for April 6th and 7th. These two days school hours will be 9:00am-12:40pm. As we get closer to Spring Break, we will send reminders as well as the bell schedule so families can plan accordingly.
